Eco-Friendly & Kid-Run!

We help neighbors reduce mosquitos in their communities

Our kid-run business offers an eco-friendly way to kill mosquitos so that you can enjoy being outside again.

Reducing mosquito populations is a collective action problem — it takes us all taking action in our own backyards. We know most people want fewer mosquitos but don't always have the time. That's where we'd like to help!

Our Story

We started as just a family passionate about safe mosquito abatement

This effort is primarily led by Spencer, 11 years old, with support from his parents. Last year he supported a few houses, but this year he got some friends to help reduce the larger mosquito population.

Now we've grown to include friends who are equally passionate — all of us kids who want to make our neighborhood a better place to be outside!

For more information about where we got the idea, read about The Mosquito Bucket Challenge.

Why Eco-Friendly?

We care about the environment as much as we care about mosquitoes

Reducing mosquito populations is a collective action problem (Spencer's mom taught us about this) — it takes us all taking action in our own backyards.

We believe you shouldn't have to choose between a mosquito-free yard and a healthy planet. Our traps use only natural materials that are safe for the whole neighborhood ecosystem.

What We Offer

Our eco-friendly services

Safe for people, pets, and the planet — all using natural mosquito larva traps

Service 1
$15/month

Summer total May–October: $95

Monthly Trap Service

If you already have traps or materials for a trap, we can come get them started and then come monthly to maintain your traps — adding water, alfalfa pellets, leaves, and a fresh mosquito dunk.

We'll let you know when we plan to service your traps each month and send an email so you know your traps are in good shape. In October, we'll clean out the traps for storage over fall and winter.

A note about service zones

Monthly service is only available if you live in one of our service zones. We aim to be eco-friendly by not using cars, and since this is a kid-run business, we can only travel so far!

But don't worry — our DIY Kit is available everywhere. Not sure if you're in our zone? Just ask!

Everything you want to know about No Fly Zone

What is BTI, and how does it work?
BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) is a natural bacterium that kills mosquito larvae.
I am out of the service zone but I would still like some buckets. Do you have any options for me?
Yes, absolutely! We offer a DIY Mosquito Larva Trap Kit for $25, which contains everything you need to service the trap yourself, and comes with instructions and monthly email reminders to ensure that you keep your trap(s) effective. This is also a great option if you want to pay less for the traps.
I am just outside of your service zone. Can you expand it just a little bit for me and my neighbors?
Sadly, we cannot. We aim to be more eco-friendly by not using cars, and since this is a kid-run business, unfortunately our parents do not want us going too far or crossing some busy streets. However, you can order a DIY bucket, and always feel free to ask us about this!
How many buckets do I need for my house?
That depends on the size of your house! These traps tend to cover a 20–80 foot radius. We've found that single-family home residents tend to opt for three to five traps, depending on the property size and mosquito intensity, while duplex residents often opt for two or three traps, and those who own a townhouse often find that they just have room for one or two. Don't let that stop you from ordering — you are absolutely welcome to take a guess on the order form, and just ask us what we think!
What do these traps look like? Will they be in the way when we are in our yard?
The traps use standard black 3.5-gallon buckets. We place them behind bushes and shrubs or up close to a fence and out of the way. This is good for both attracting mosquitoes and being out of the way for people.
My dog likes to get into things. Will this be a problem with the buckets?
The lids snap on tight to the buckets, and the BTI dunk that we use in the traps will not harm your dog if he or she does manage to get into one, so your pup will be safe around our traps. In fact, dogs can contract heartworm disease from mosquito bites, so having the traps around will protect your furry friend (and your neighbors', as well).

Why No Fly Zone?

The eco-friendly choice for your community

Here's what makes us different from other mosquito control options

100% Natural

No harsh sprays or chemicals — our traps are safe for kids, pets, bees, and the whole ecosystem.

Kid-Powered

You're supporting young entrepreneurs from your own neighborhood who care about their community.

Truly Local

We travel on foot and by bike — no car emissions, no strangers. Just neighbors helping neighbors.

Kills Mosquito Larvae-Before They Bite

Most mosquito abatement techniques aim to kill adult mosquitos, which is less effective because it may kill them after they have already reproduced. Our traps kill the larvae, making them much more effective.

It Actually Works

You will notice less mosquitos around (and in) your home. Our traps effectively kill mosquitos before they bite, without harming anything else.

Collective Impact

More traps in the neighborhood means fewer mosquitoes for everyone — it's a team effort!
